About the role
Orygen is Australia’s Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health and the largest translational research organisation dedicated to youth mental health in the world.
For over 30 years, Orygen has led groundbreaking early intervention and developed evidence-based models of care to improve the mental health outcomes of young people aged 12-25.
As a First Nations Social and Emotional Wellbeing Coordinator, you will provide culturally informed, strength-based support and mentoring to young people and families from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds requiring mental health support at headspace Werribee.
This is a newly developed leadership role within a brand-new program seeking to reduce stigma and identify and address barriers that may impact on young, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander young people’s engagement to access mental health care and act as a senior cultural leader within the team.
This is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Identified Position, classified under 'special measures' of section 12 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010. Only Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are eligible to apply.

This is a part-time contract, 0.8FTE (4 days per week) until December 2027.
