HR Driver & Truck mounted forklift operator

About the role

Gladstone Brick Sales and Landscaping Supplies is seeking an experienced HR Driver & Truck Mounted Forklift Operator to join our team in Gladstone, QLD. This is a full-time position based in Gladstone, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy rigid (HR) vehicle and truck-mounted forklift, ensuring timely delivery of products to customers whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Operating heavy rigid (HR) vehicles safely and efficiently to transport landscaping supplies and brick products to customer locations

• Operating truck-mounted forklifts to load, unload and position materials at job sites

• Conducting pre-delivery vehicle and equipment inspections to ensure all safety standards are met

• Planning delivery routes to meet customer schedules and maximise operational efficiency

• Maintaining accurate delivery records, documentation and timesheets

• Communicate with customers and freight companies to complete a daily manifest.

• Performing routine vehicle maintenance and reporting any mechanical issues promptly

• Assisting with general yard duties and stock management as required 

What we're looking for

• HR (Heavy Rigid) driver's licence with a clean driving record

• Forklift ticket

• Strong knowledge of road safety rules, vehicle maintenance and load securing procedures

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules

• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling tasks safely

• Reliable, punctual and committed to maintaining high safety standards

• Experience in the landscaping or building supplies industry

To be successful in this role you must be customer focused and be able to prioritise your workload with an emphasis on conducting yourself safely at all times. Deliveries will be on our HR truck with a Truck Mounted forklift or unloaded directly from semitrailers on building sites.
