About the role
City Family Practice is looking for an enthusiastic, attentive, and compassionate Medical Receptionist to join our family based medical practice on a full-time basis (5 days/week).
Our Practice is a small, accredited GP-owned medical practice established in 1979. We are located in the centre of Canberra on London Circuit with four very happy GPs, two Registered Nurses, and four administration team members.
Our Practice covers all aspects of general medicine, and we are committed to providing high-quality patient centred care that considers and respects patients’ rights, identity, body diversity, beliefs, and religious/cultural backgrounds.
We are fully computerised using Best Practice Software and HotDoc for online appointment bookings.
As a Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for greeting patients, and their families/carers in a warm and welcoming manner, scheduling appointments and registering patients, handling telephone and email correspondence, processing accounts and Medicare billing, and performing other medical administration tasks to ensure smooth and efficient functioning of the practice.
Our Practice is looking for someone who has the following attributes:
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Professional work ethic who consistently adheres to privacy principles and confidentiality standards
· Strong focus on attention to detail and accurate record keeping and documentation
· Reliable with the ability to prioritise tasks, solve problems, and manage time appropriately and efficiently
· Computer literacy; Microsoft Office and Best Practice Software (desirable, but not essential)
· Current CPR certification (desirable, but not essential at the time of job commencement)
