About the role
O’Neill Partners Commercial Lawyers www.oneillpartners.com.au specialises in insolvency and litigation. As part of our practice, we have a large debt recovery portfolio servicing business-to-business clients and service providers.
We are currently seeking a 1-3 year PQE solicitor with an interest in commercial litigation to work closely with a Partner, Associate and Paralegal in our Sydney CBD office.
The role
In this role you will, under supervision:
· Have day to day carriage of matters and draft pleadings, correspondence, deeds, terms of settlement bankruptcy notices, creditor’s petitions and other Court documents;
· Prepare contested cases for hearing including drafting affidavits, collating evidence and liaising with witnesses and Counsel where necessary;
· Appear in the Local Court (Small Claims and General Divisions), Federal Circuit Court Bankruptcy List and Supreme Court Corporations List or instruct counsel in more complicated matters;
· Use the online portal for each of the above Courts;
· Have direct contact with clients and defendants to secure a timely commercial resolution to the matter;
· Work with an experienced Paralegal to facilitate post-judgment enforcement of debts.
About you
A genuine interest in commercial litigation, a working knowledge of the UCPR, strong teamwork skills and an eye for detail are essential criteria for this role.
