Canteen Trigg is a beachside cafe located in Trigg. We offer a relaxed atmosphere providing a great spot for both dine in and take away meals. We’re open seven days a week, with no late-night finishes, making this a great opportunity for someone looking for a positive and balanced kitchen environment.

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join the team on a casual basis. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining the standards of our kitchen operations. You will work as part of a collaborative team, contributing to the overall experience of our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards

• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety and quality throughout all food preparation processes

• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers and other cooking appliances

• Follow portion control guidelines and plating specifications to ensure consistency across all dishes

• Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food preparation during service

• Respond to special dietary requirements and food allergen requests from guests

• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations

What we're looking for

• Demonstrated experience working as a Cook or in a similar kitchen role

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining quality standards during busy service periods

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a kitchen team

• Attention to detail and commitment to presenting food to a high standard

• Flexibility, reliability and availability to work weekends and public holidays
