Metallurgist/Heat Treater

Opportunity for a motivated individual to join a well-established business in the National Manufacturing sector.

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

• Metallurgical expertise — Strong understanding of metallurgy, microstructures, and heat‑treatment principles, with the ability to operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy in all testing procedures.

• Industrial furnace experience — Hands‑on experience with industrial furnaces, heavy machinery, and thermal processing equipment.

• Procedure development — Ability to tailor metallurgical and heat‑treatment procedures to meet varied customer and production requirements.

• Communication & teamwork — Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

• Reporting & leadership — Capability to manage all reporting requirements and take a leadership role in developing the Processing Department.

• Project management — Skill in identifying, prioritising, and implementing heat‑treatment projects, including engaging and managing external customers.

• Hands‑on engineering — Enjoyment of a multi‑role position that includes practical, hands‑on engineering tasks.

• Business drive — Energy and initiative to help drive the business forward.

• Department responsibility — Responsibility for running the Heat Treatment Department, collaborating with production teams to troubleshoot processing issues, and recommending improvements.

• Safety & environmental compliance — Commitment to adhering to company health, safety, and environmental policies and standards.
