Barista | Cà Phê Mai, Double Bay

Casual | Up to 30 hours a week | Daytime shifts, no nights

Cà Phê Mai is a contemporary Vietnamese cafe by day and a casual wine bar by night, on Kiaora Lane in Double Bay. The coffee programme is the front door of the venue: house blend is Single O Reservoir with rotating single origins on batch and cold brew, and alongside the espresso build sits a signature list you won't be making anywhere else - Cà Phê Muối with salted cream and tonka bean, Kumquat Mont Blanc, ube and strawberry dragonfruit matchas.

We're looking for an experienced barista to work alongside our Head Barista.

The role

• Dial in, hold spec and pour consistently through a busy daytime service

• Own the machine solo on some shifts, work the second position on others

• Learn and run the signature drinks list — recipes are tight and everything is made properly, condensed milk to cold brew

• Keep the bar clean, stocked and calm at pace

Shifts are daytime only — first coffees at 7am, done by mid-afternoon. This is a casual role with up to 30 hours a week available for the right person.

About you

• Solid specialty experience — you can dial in a grinder without being asked, steam milk you'd serve your mates, and hold quality when the queue is ten deep

• Fast, tidy and unflustered at volume

• Warm with regulars — the bar is front of house here, not a back corner
