A friendly gentleman living in a residential aged care home in Hurstville would enjoy spending time with a Greek-speaking volunteer who can share conversation, companionship and connection. 

Having grown up in Greece and migrated to Australia in his 20s, he has lived a rich and interesting life. While dementia has made it harder for him to communicate in English, he remains warm, good-natured and enjoys the comfort of hearing his first language spoken. 

Your visits might include:

• Enjoying a stroll around the neighbourhood 
  

• Playing simple games together 
  

• Sharing stories and conversation in Greek 
  

• Offering friendship and companionship 
  

This role would suit a patient, confident and compassionate volunteer who understands that meaningful connection comes in many forms, especially for someone living with dementia.
