Senior Policy Adviser, Sector Funding and Budget Branch, Sector Funding and Pricing Unit

About the role: 

The Senior Policy Advisor supports the development and implementation of funding policy reforms within Hospital Victoria.

The role involves conducting research and providing advice on a range of health funding programs and policies, drawing on a mix of policy and data analysis skills. This position will also support other key divisional priorities.

About you:

• Provide authoritative advice, reasoned recommendations and innovative solutions to complex and sensitive issues based on comprehensive research

• Maintain an understanding of Commonwealth and State legislative and policy reform directions to influence policy development.

• Negotiates with stakeholders and peers with the object of gaining co-operation and meeting timelines for delivery of project, service or advice.

• Monitor and report on high priority issues, risks and trends and prepare and present reports, ministerial briefs, Cabinet and agency submissions.

Qualification/Specialist Expertise

• A tertiary qualification in fields related to health, science, economics, or public administration would be desirable.
• A sound understanding of the Victorian health system, demonstrated knowledge of relevant government legislation and ability to use Microsoft Office products would be beneficial.
