Bar Manager

Run the Baa.

Barbarian Brewing Co. is the heart of our village. A small independent micro-brewpub in Melbourne's inner west, we brew exceptional beer right here in Kingsville and serve it with simple, tasty food to families, mates and locals. We do not just sell beer. We sell a place worth coming back to. And we are looking for a Bar Manager to run it.

The role

You are the senior person on the floor and the face of the pub. The room, the guests, the events, the bar and cellar, the team and the trading result are all yours. You run the day to day, working closely with the owner. The kitchen owns the food and the Head Brewer owns the beer, so you get to focus on the room and everything guest-side.

What you will own:

●      The result. Clear revenue and cost targets, and a short weekly report on how it is tracking.

●      The events and functions. Our biggest growth lever, yours to chase and deliver.

●      The room. Warm, humming and spotless every shift, with our Google rating as the scorecard.

●      The bar and cellar. Ordering, stock, kegs, tap lines and the range.

●      The team. Hire, lead, roster and develop a crew that never depends on one person.

Who you are

●      A natural host who owns a room and makes guests feel like locals.

●      Ready to step up. A strong supervisor or assistant manager after your first full manager role, or an experienced manager who fits the culture.

●      A head for the numbers. You chase functions, read what is selling and work to a target.

●      Take real pride in the room and the guest experience, and want to build it alongside the owner.

●      No ego about the work. Happy to clean a toilet, lift a keg and take the bins out, and set the tone by doing it first.

●      A current RSA.

Beer knowledge, cellar skills and reporting are a bonus, but attitude beats experience and we will train the rest.

What is in it for you

You will not be doing this alone. You step into an established playbook, a strong team and shift supervisors who carry each shift, with the owner right there alongside you, backing you and coaching you as you grow. We are early in the build with big ambitions, so there is real room to rise. This is a role for someone who wants to grow, with the support to actually do it.

$75,000 to $85,000 plus super. Full time across a Wednesday to Sunday roster, including evenings and weekends.
