About the role
Recovery Alliance Care
We are seeking experienced and compassionate Female Support Workers to join our team supporting a participant within a Supported Independent Living (SIL) environment. This role involves providing consistent, person-centred support to an individual living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who presents with complex behaviours and high support needs.
Successful applicants will be confident working within structured routines, implementing behaviour support strategies, and maintaining a calm, professional approach in challenging situations. You will play a key role in supporting the participant’s daily living skills, emotional regulation, community access, and overall wellbeing while promoting independence, dignity, and choice.
Provide active support within a SIL home environment
Follow Positive Behaviour Support Plans and risk management strategies
Support emotional regulation and respond appropriately to behaviours of concern
Assist with personal care, daily living tasks, meal preparation, and household duties
Support community participation and transport to appointments or activities
Maintain accurate progress notes and incident reporting
Work collaboratively with families, allied health professionals, and the broader care team
Promote a safe, respectful, and consistent support environment
Be available and comfortable working both active day shifts and overnight sleepover shifts, with flexibility to support the needs of the client and service.
Experience supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Understanding of sensory needs, communication preferences, and behaviour support strategies
Knowledge of person-centred and strengths-based approaches
Ability to follow Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs)
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Empathy, patience, and the ability to build trust with clients and families
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Currently hold or willing to obtain a National Police Check and Working with Children Check
Current CPR certification
Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle MUST
Ability to maintain clear professional boundaries and documentation.
This role is to support a young female client with Autism in Supported Independent Living. Shifts available, days, evenings and sleepovers. Female support workers would be the clients preference.
