Hunter Ability Support is seeking experienced, compassionate and reliable female Disability Support Workers for two separate ongoing positions.
Female support workers are required due to the participants’ personal-care needs and preferences.
📍 Location: Chisholm, Maitland and surrounding areas
Mondays
5:45pm–7:45pm
Tuesdays
6:00am–8:00am or 7:00am–9:00am, depending on whether the participant is attending school & 5:45pm–7:45pm
Wednesdays
6:00am–8:00am or 7:00am–9:00am, depending on whether the participant is attending school
Thursdays
6:00am–8:00am or 7:00am–9:00am, depending on whether the participant is attending school
Fridays
6:00am–8:00am or 7:00am–9:00am, depending on whether the participant is attending school
5:45pm–7:45pm
Saturday and Sunday — fortnightly
7:00am–9:00am
5:45pm–7:45pm
Additional daytime shifts may be available for the right support worker.
Are you reliable, detail-oriented and experienced in complex care?
We are looking for a compassionate and skilled female Support Worker to join our growing team in Chisholm.
You will work closely with a participant who requires high-level care, consistency and support with complex daily living activities. This role requires someone who is confident, respectful and willing to learn and follow the participant’s established routines.
• Assisting with personal care and hygiene
• Providing bowel care, including enemas
• Supporting mobility using hoists
• Assisting with transfers and positioning
• Supporting the participant with daily routines
• Completing cleaning and household tasks
• Following participant care plans and support instructions
• Completing accurate case notes and handovers
• Promoting independence, dignity, emotional wellbeing and social inclusion
• Working respectfully with the participant, their family and the broader support team
• Be available for the listed shifts on an ongoing basis
• Be a non-smoker and non-vaper due to the participant’s medical requirements
• Have experience using hoists
• Have experience providing bowel care or be willing and suitable to complete participant-specific training
• Be comfortable providing complex personal care
• Be reliable, patient and detail-oriented
• Be able to follow established routines and care instructions
• Hold a valid Australian driver’s licence
• Hold an NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Hold a Working With Children Check
• Hold current First Aid and CPR certificates
• Be kind, dependable and passionate about supporting others
📍 Location: Cessnock, NSW
• 7:00am–1:00pm
• 3:00pm–10:00pm
• Inactive overnight shifts
• Weekday and weekend shifts available
We are seeking experienced female Support Workers to join a structured Supported Independent Living team in Cessnock.
This position is best suited to workers who have experience providing complex care and understand the importance of consistency, teamwork, professional communication and following participant-specific support plans.
• Supporting participants with personal care and hygiene
• Assisting with mobility, positioning and manual handling
• Supporting participants with daily routines and household activities
• Following health care plans, behaviour support plans and risk-management strategies
• Monitoring and reporting changes in participant presentation
• Supporting medication processes within the worker’s training and scope
• Preparing meals and supporting participants with food and fluids
• Completing household cleaning and maintaining a safe home environment
• Supporting community access and social participation
• Completing accurate case notes, handovers, charts and incident documentation
• Working collaboratively with support workers, senior staff, management and clinical professionals
• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Ageing or a related qualification
• Relevant disability-support experience
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Current Working With Children Check
• Current First Aid and CPR
• Australian driver’s licence
• Reliable and insured vehicle
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to complete accurate case notes and documentation
• Commitment to participant dignity, privacy, choice and independence
• Availability to work ongoing rostered shifts
