About the role
Pacific Boating is Sydney's premier boat-sharing membership. Instead of owning a boat, members pay a monthly subscription to use our fleet of Sea Ray luxury sports cruisers. We train them to drive, and we keep every boat maintained, insured and ready to go. We run 19 boats across two marinas: Sydney Boat House at Rozelle and The Quays Marina at Church Point.
We're hiring an all-rounder for the Rozelle team, where 12 boats between 32 and 52 feet head out most days of the week.
The roleThis is hands-on outdoor work. You'll join the crew that gets every boat cleaned, fuelled and ready before members arrive, then sees them safely away and back again. Across a typical week you will:
Clean and detail boats inside and out on a daily basis
Complete pre-departure inspections, safety checks and photos before the morning deadlines
Welcome members, run safety briefings and help with departures and returns
Refuel, pump out and move boats around the marina and between our two sites
Inspect boats on return, log faults in our operations system and keep the dock in order
Complete scheduled deeper clean and maintenance of the fleet
The roster rotates over four weeks with a mix of early and late shifts, and it includes weekends: Saturday and Sunday are our busiest days on the water.
About you
You might already work around boats as a deckhand, detailer or marina hand, or come from hospitality or premium customer service and want to work outdoors. Either way, attitude counts for more than experience. We're after reliable people who present well and take pride in the finish of their work. Our members pay for a premium experience. The boat they step onto tells them whether they're getting it.
It's physical work, outdoors in all weather. You're on your feet most of the day, and should be able to lift up to 20kg when needed.
A current NSW boat licence and Coxswain NC3 are highly regarded but not essential. We'll help the right person get them.
The details
Full time, $65,000 to $75,000 plus super, depending on experience
Rotating four-week roster with early and late shifts, including weekends
Based at Sydney Boat House, Rozelle
Structured onboarding and training across our fleet, systems and safety procedures
Access to the Pacific Boating fleet as a staff benefit
To apply
Send your CV with a short note on why the role suits you, and confirm in the note that you can commit to a roster that includes weekends and early and late shifts.
Candidates will require permanent Australian work rights.
