Head of Year 7

St Patrick's College Townsville is seeking an exceptional and passionate educational leader to join our community as Head of Year 7 commencing in 2027.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in guiding students through their transition into secondary school. Working closely with students, families and staff, you will provide pastoral leadership and inclusive educational support, fostering a caring and connected environment where every student can thrive. You will play an important role in shaping the Year 7 experience, promoting student growth, engagement, belonging and success.

About the Role

As Head of Year 7, you will lead the pastoral, wellbeing and transition programs for the Year 7 cohort, supporting students and families through one of the most significant stages of their educational journey. Working as part of the College's pastoral leadership team, you will build strong partnerships, coordinate inclusive education processes and create opportunities for students to develop confidence, resilience and connection.

You will also contribute to the broader formation of students through camps, retreats, liturgies and other community-building experiences.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the pastoral, wellbeing and transition programs for the Year 7 cohort.

• Supporting student engagement, belonging and positive educational outcomes.

• Coordinating inclusive education processes and student support initiatives.

• Building strong partnerships with students, families and staff.

• Leading Year 7 community-building and transition experiences.

• Contributing to the College's camps, retreats and broader formation program.

• Promoting a culture aligned with the values and expectations of St Patrick's College Townsville.

About You

You are an experienced and student-centred educator who:

• Has demonstrated experience in pastoral leadership, student wellbeing or middle leadership roles.

• Has experience supporting diverse learners and implementing inclusive education practices.

• Builds positive and respectful relationships with students, families and colleagues.

• Can lead initiatives that promote student engagement, belonging and personal growth.

• Demonstrates a strong commitment to student wellbeing and child safeguarding.

• Is willing to participate in camps, retreats, overnight activities and other aspects of the College's broader formation program.

• Is committed to the values and mission of Catholic education.
