Shop Assistant

Uong Ca Phe is a new Vietnamese coffee and snack shop opening on James Street, Northbridge. We serve specialty espresso alongside traditional Vietnamese phin coffee, fresh smoothies and juices, bánh mì, rice paper rolls, smoothies and shaved-ice desserts.

We're building our opening team and looking for a shop assistant who wants to grow into a barista role.

What you'll do

• Greet customers, take orders and process payments on our Square POS

• Prepare smoothies, fresh juices and shaved-ice snowflake desserts

• Serve bánh mì, sandwiches and rice paper rolls; toast baguettes on request

• Keep the counter, front of house and equipment clean and food-safe

• Restock displays and fridges, complete opening and closing duties

• Support the barista during busy periods

What we're looking for

• A warm, upbeat manner with customers and a genuine willingness to learn

• Reliability and good timekeeping — we're a small team and we count on each other

• Ability to stay calm and tidy during a rush

• Clear spoken English; Vietnamese is a bonus but not required

• Availability across weekends and public holidays

• Valid Australian work rights

Hospitality experience is welcome but not essential — attitude matters more to us than a resume.
