Accountant

You’ll enjoy this role if you’re ready to move beyond basic finance processing and become the person people rely on to keep the numbers right.

You’ve built the basics and you’re looking for somewhere you can deepen your technical accounting skills without being pushed into budgeting, forecasting or constant stakeholder meetings before you’re ready.

This role is about becoming really good at financial accounting.

You’ll work across journals, reconciliations, month-end and compliance work that keeps Youi’s financial reporting accurate and on track. It isn’t glamorous work every day, but it’s important work. When month-end arrives and reporting deadlines are approaching, your work helps ensure our leaders and Board can trust the numbers they’re making decisions from.

You’ll be surrounded by experienced accountants who’ll help you build the technical capability that sets you up for your next move into a Senior Accountant role.

What you’ll be doing

• Own journals, reconciliations and month-end tasks that keep our financial reporting accurate.
• Investigate differences, solve problems and make sure the numbers stack up.
• Build confidence across BAS, FBT and other compliance activities.
• Help improve the way we work by spotting better, simpler ways of doing things.
• Support audits and maintain reliable financial information across the business.
• Learn from experienced accountants whilst also coaching/mentoring junior staff.

What great looks like

• Around 1–3 years’ experience in financial accounting or a similar finance role.
• CA or CPA qualified or nearing completion  
• Experience preparing journals, reconciliations and supporting month-end activities.
• Strong Excel skills and genuine attention to detail.
• Curious by nature and interested in understanding the “why” behind the numbers.
• Ability to manage deadlines, complexity and large volumes of financial data
• Ownership-driven, with a focus on continuous improvement and team contribution
• Someone who enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in producing accurate work.
