MACHINIST ASSEMBLER

About the role

Linear Technik P/L is seeking a skilled Machinist Assembler to join our team on a full-time basis at our facility in Dandenong South, Victoria. This is a hands-on manufacturing role that combines precision machining with assembly work, contributing directly to the production of high-quality technical components. You will play a vital role in our operations, working with modern machinery and tools to ensure products meet our exacting standards and deadlines.

What you'll be doing

• Operating manual machines to produce precision components according to technical specifications and engineering drawings

• Assembling machined parts and sub-assemblies with attention to detail and accuracy

• Performing quality checks and inspections throughout the machining and assembly process to ensure adherence to tolerances and standards

• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and work instructions

• Setting up and adjusting machinery to optimise production runs and minimise downtime

• Maintaining workshop equipment and tools in good working order

• Following all health and safety protocols and procedures on the factory floor

• Contributing to a collaborative team environment and supporting colleagues when required

• Identifying and reporting any manufacturing issues or defects to supervisory staff

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Machinist Assembler or similar role in a manufacturing or engineering environment

• Competency in operating lathes, mills and other standard workshop machinery

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and specifications accurately

• Strong understanding of precision tolerances and quality control standards

• Manual dexterity and attention to detail in assembly work

• Relevant trade qualifications or certifications in machining or mechanical assembly

• Experience with hand tools and measuring instruments such as micrometres and callipers

• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team

• Commitment to health and safety in the workplace

• Reliability and punctuality

• Preferred: experience with specific machinery relevant to Linear Technik's product range or familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
