About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our team as a Barista/Waiter on a casual basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic hospitality environment at one of Sydney's most sought-after venues. You will be at the forefront of our guest experience, combining your barista skills with attentive table service to create a seamless and enjoyable dining and beverage experience. This casual position offers flexibility and the opportunity to be part of a professional team dedicated to hospitality excellence. Located in Circular Quay, in Sydney's CBD NSW 2000, you'll be working in our beautiful waterfront location.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing and serving high-quality coffee and beverages to guests with precision and care

• Providing attentive and professional table service, taking orders and delivering food and beverages promptly

• Maintaining knowledge of our menu, wine selection and beverage offerings to make informed recommendations

• Ensuring tables are set to our standards and maintained throughout service

• Managing the café and bar area, keeping it clean, organised and well-stocked

• Processing payments and handling cash or electronic transactions accurately

• Building rapport with guests and responding to special requests with professionalism and courtesy

• Collaborating with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service delivery

• Adhering to food safety, hygiene and health and safety protocols at all times

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a barista with strong espresso machine and coffee preparation skills

• Previous experience in a waiter or hospitality service role, ideally in an upmarket or fine dining establishment

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for customer service

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining attention to detail

• Knowledge of coffee varieties, brewing methods and beverage preparation techniques

• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays as required for a casual role

• Reliability and the ability to work independently or as part of a team

• A positive attitude and commitment to delivering exceptional hospitality experiences

• Food safety certification or willingness to obtain it (desirable)
