About the roleWe’re looking for an experienced paediatric physiotherapist to join Just for Kids as our Clinical Lead.This is a genuine clinical leadership role combining your own paediatric caseload with protected time for mentoring, complex case support, clinical education, service development and leadership.The role is approximately 60-70% clinical / 30-40% clinical leadership and service development, although this will flex depending on the needs of the team.
You’ll work closely with our Director, Senior Paediatric Physiotherapist and Practice Manager to support an established paediatric team and help shape where Just for Kids goes next.
What you’ll doYour role will include:Managing your own paediatric caseload within your areas of experience and interestSupervising and mentoring physiotherapists and physiotherapy aidesSupporting clinicians with complex cases and clinical decision-makingProviding joint consultations and co-treatment where appropriateReviewing clinical reasoning and treatment plansRunning case discussions, in-services and internal trainingDeveloping clinician learning and professional development plansSupporting onboarding and development of new cliniciansReviewing clinical pathways, service quality and consistency of careWorking with the leadership team on staffing, service priorities and future growthBuilding relationships with paediatricians, GPs, allied health professionals and other referrers
Potential upcoming Clinical Lead projectsA key part of this role is having protected time to work on projects that improve the service beyond the patients you personally treat.Potential upcoming projects may include:Further developing our Physiotherapy Aide service, including delegation, handover systems and aide trainingExploring the viability of a satellite paediatric physiotherapy service alongside a trusted local paediatric medical teamReviewing and implementing an additional standardised gross motor assessment toolInvestigating emerging clinical areas such as neuromuscular electrical stimulationReviewing and updating clinical pathways and SOPsDeveloping targeted team upskilling and professional development programsImproving clinician onboarding and supervision systemsIdentifying new service opportunities and helping determine what we should develop nextThese are examples rather than a fixed project list. We want the Clinical Lead to have genuine input into where their time and expertise can have the greatest impact.
About youYou’ll be an excellent clinician first and foremost.Ideally, you’ll have:5+ years’ experience as a physiotherapistAt least 2 years’ private practice paediatric physiotherapy experienceStrong independent clinical reasoning and caseload managementCurrent AHPRA registrationCurrent Working With Children CheckProfessional indemnity insuranceUnrestricted rights to work in AustraliaExperience mentoring or developing other cliniciansConfidence giving and receiving feedbackExperience navigating challenging conversationsAn interest in clinical education and service developmentYou may already be a Clinical Lead, Senior Physiotherapist or Clinical Manager.Or you may be an experienced paediatric physio who has naturally become the person colleagues turn to for advice, mentoring and problem-solving.You do not need to have previously held a management title.
