Service Technician

Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Service Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, inspecting, and repairing a wide range of materials handling equipment. This role provides a varied workload, combining preventative maintenance, diagnostics, breakdown repairs, and customer support, while offering the opportunity to work independently and develop strong technical expertise.

Responsibilities

• Perform servicing, repairs and maintenance on materials handling equipment and associated machinery
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic faults
• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and safety inspections
• Complete breakdown repairs in both workshop and field environments
• Install, commission and test equipment as required
• Provide technical support and advice to customers regarding operation and maintenance
• Maintain accurate service records, job documentation, and parts usage
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures
• Collaborate with other technicians and departments to achieve customer and operational objectives
• Deliver a high level of customer service and professionalism at all times

Qualifications & Experience

• Trade qualification in Mobile Plant Technology, Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Automotive, Diesel Fitting or a related field preferred
• Experience servicing and repairing forklifts, access equipment, construction equipment, or similar machinery advantageous
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical diagnostic skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Current driver’s licence
• Forklift licence and other relevant licences/tickets advantageous
