Business Support Coordinator

The Role

At SMS Mining Services, we are seeking an organised, proactive and highly capable Business Support Coordinator to play a key role in the smooth and efficient operation of our head office.
  
Reporting to the Executive Assistant, you will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day administration of the office while providing reliable, high-quality support across the business. From managing reception and office facilities to coordinating timesheets, travel, meetings, suppliers and general administration, you will be an integral part of keeping our workplace running efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Manage front-of-house reception, answer incoming calls, and direct enquiries to the appropriate teams.
• Coordinate the day-to-day administrative functions of the corporate office.
• Process fortnightly and monthly timesheets for site and workshop-based employees, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
• Maintain and monitor the Components Register for the Maintenance division.
• Procure and manage office supplies, equipment, and other workplace resources.
• Coordinate meetings, travel arrangements, and assist with company events.
• Provide administrative support for workplace health, safety, compliance, and related activities.
• Assist various departments with general administration, coordination, and business support.
• Act as the primary point of contact for office-related enquiries, requests, and coordination.

What We’re Looking For  

• Previous experience in an administrative, office coordination or business support role.
• Organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
• A proactive, self-motivated approach, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Proficiency across the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
• A high level of professionalism with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the business.
• A flexible and team-oriented approach, with a willingness to assist wherever required to support the wider business.
• Would consider part-time (four days per week) for the right candidate.
