About the role
Position: Ecommerce Photographer About the business and role Wellcom is a global creative production agency. We are a collective of content, production, and technology experts, working across Australasia, Asia, Europe, and the United States. We provide creative solutions across mediums including digital, print, photography, and video. Our client list spans global brands, local businesses, and creative agencies. As an Ecommerce Photographer, you’ll play a key role in bringing client briefs to life for one of Australia’s leading retailers. Working closely with clients, stylists, producers and the wider studio team, you'll bring creative briefs to life while ensuring consistency, quality and efficiency across every shoot. You’ll balance creative vision with client requirements, using your expertise to provide thoughtful recommendations, solve challenges and deliver photography that meets both creative and commercial objectives. Key ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Head of Photography/ Studio Manager, you will:Capture and process ecommerce imagery to briefDeliver consistent, high-quality photography that aligns with client brand guidelines and visual standardsProvide direction and guidance on set to achieve the best possible outcomesProactively identify opportunities to improve image quality, workflow, and studio efficiencyOperate, maintain and organise photography equipment, including cameras, lenses, lighting, and studio systemsManage digital assets and maintain accurate archiving, file management, and database recordsCollaborate closely with photographers, stylists, producers, and clients to ensure seamless shoot executionSupport the broader studio team as required and contribute to a positive, solutions-focused working environmentTroubleshoot technical challenges and adapt quickly to changing priorities and production needs Must-Have Skills & ExperienceMinimum 3 years' experience in retail ecommerce photography, including both product and talent photographyAdvanced knowledge of Capture One softwareStrong technical expertise in studio lighting, camera systems and photographic workflowsDemonstrated ability to consistently deliver high-volume, high-quality ecommerce imageryExcellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to work effectively within a creative teamProactive, flexible attitude and willingness to get the job doneProven problem-solving skills and confidence working in a fast-paced production environmentExcellent time management skills and a willingness to learn.Self-motivated with the ability to work as a team player and autonomously Nice to Have Skills & ExperienceExperience working within large-scale retail or agency studio environmentsKnowledge of ecommerce content production workflows and digital asset management systemsExperience photographing across a diverse range of product categoriesBasic image retouching or post-production knowledgeAn interest in emerging photography technologies, automation and content production innovation What Success Looks likeConsistently producing high-quality imagery that meets client expectations and brand standardsBuilding trusted relationships with clients and studio stakeholdersMaintaining efficiency without compromising qualityContributing positively to a collaborative, high-performing team cultureContinuously seeking opportunities to improve workflows, processes and creative outcomes
