About the role
A unique position exists for a Front of House Receptionist to join KaRa Institute of Neurological Diseases. The primary focus of this role is to support efficient patient flow, manage front-of-house operations and oversee billing processes while providing a high-quality, professional experience for patients, carers, visitors and staff. Our work includes supporting people at risk of dementia and those already experiencing memory changes, and our site offers private services and also conducts pharmaceutical-sponsored clinical trials across Phase II-IV studies.
Essential Criteria:
· Demonstrated medical reception experience, including managing patient enquiries, appointments and front-of-house workflows
· Demonstrated exceptional oral and written communication skills
· Demonstrated experience with Medicare billing, claiming processes and billing reconciliation including experience with medical billing platform such as TYRO
· Experience using practice management software to manage appointments, patient records and billing functions
· Demonstrated ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
· Demonstrated understanding of how Australian regulations, guidelines, and standards are followed
Desirable
· Familiarity with medical terminology
· Understanding of dementia (personally or professionally)
Our Ideal Candidate
Experience as a medical receptionist, practice manager or front-of-house administrator in a healthcare setting is highly regarded. The ideal candidate will be confident supporting patient flow, managing billing and using practice management software in a busy clinical environment.
· Excellent organisational and multi-tasking abilities
· Knowledge of Australian healthcare regulations, Medicare billing procedures and patient administration processes
· Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
