Vineyard Operator - Yering Station

Yering Station is seeking experienced and motivated Vineyard Operator to join our team on a full-time basis. Based in the heart of the beautiful Yarra Valley, Yering Station produces a range of award-winning wines truly expressive of the Yarra Valley’s terroir including classics Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz Viognier and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as sparkling wine released under the Yarrabank label

Based on site, the Vineyard Operator will help with the day-to-day vineyard operations which include: Pruning, crop forecasting, spraying, weed control, mowing/trimming, pest management, disease monitoring and control, soil moisture monitoring and control, irrigation system operations and maintenance. Along with accurate record keeping. You will need the ability to work flexible hours as required, both during vintage but also to suit weather conditions with spray programs and irrigation if required. There is a strong hands-on component in this role, and as such, the successful applicant will need to be competent in a broad array of general farming skills and must be able to work unsupervised and have a sound understanding of vineyard machinery and operations.

You will need the ability to work either within a team environment and follow directives or work independently without supervision. Reporting to the Vineyard Manager, you will work internally with our existing vineyard and garden team.

The potential candidate must be a Strong Team player who is committed to achieving company goals in a dynamic environment, must possess strong problem-solving skills along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be self-motivated, flexible and have a hands-on approach to help manage the five vineyard sites.
