About the role
The Executive Level 1 (EL1) leads the Unique Device Identification (UDI) Team and is responsible for the operation and ongoing development of Australia’s UDI system and Database within the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), taking into account evolving global UDI frameworks and considerations. The role requires working independently with strong initiative in a fast-paced environment, while leading complex work across regulatory policy, IT systems, change management, and stakeholder engagement.
Key responsibilities:
The EL1 manages relationships with internal and external stakeholders and oversees the operation and enhancement of the Australian UDI Database, including the UDI Team and IT delivery partners (which may include ITD and external service providers), and ensures effective project planning and delivery.

Overall, the role combines leadership, technical oversight, and policy expertise to support effective implementation and continuous improvement of the UDI system.
Requirements:
The candidate must promptly disclose and effectively manage any potential conflict of interest (whether real or perceived), including financial interests, arising from their APS employment, particularly concerning medical devices and interactions with industry. They must also disclose any significant personal interests that may impact their APS duties, both prior to and throughout their tenure.
