Job Description
Join the dynamic team at Masiratna Study Abroad as a full-time Student Counsellor in our Melbourne office. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive academic and pastoral support to international students, ensuring their success and well-being throughout their studies.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct one-on-one counselling sessions to address students’ academic, personal, and cultural challenges
Develop and deliver tailored support programs to help students achieve their educational goals
Collaborate with faculty and administrative staff to monitor student progress and identify early intervention opportunities
Organise and facilitate workshops and information sessions on topics such as study skills, time management, and mental health
Serve as a trusted advisor, guiding students through the complexities of adjusting to life and study in Australia
Maintain detailed records and provide regular reporting on student progress and engagement
Contribute to the continuous improvement of student support services and policies
Skill & Experience
Degree qualification in counselling, psychology, or a related field (preferred)
5+ years of experience working in a student services or higher education environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathise and build rapport with diverse student populations
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the capacity to provide tailored guidance and support
Thorough understanding of the challenges faced by international students and a demonstrated commitment to their academic and personal success
Familiarity with relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices in student counselling and support
Proficient in using student information systems and data analysis tools
Multilingual (Arabic is a bonus)
