Automotive Mechanic

About the role

As a Motor Mechanic, you will be responsible for carrying out mechanical inspections, servicing, repairs and diagnostics across a range of passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles. You will work closely with our panel and repair team to ensure vehicles are repaired safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out vehicle servicing, inspections and general mechanical repairs.

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.

• Perform brake, suspension, steering and cooling-system repairs.

• Carry out pre-repair and post-repair mechanical inspections.

• Assist with vehicle safety checks following accident repairs.

• Identify additional mechanical work required and communicate findings clearly.

• Work efficiently to meet agreed repair times and deadlines.

• Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop.

• Complete job cards and relevant documentation accurately.

• Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.

About you

• Relevant automotive trade qualification – Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.

• Previous experience as a qualified motor mechanic.

• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

• A sound knowledge of modern vehicle mechanical systems.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.

• Good communication and organisational skills.

• A current Australian driver's licence.

• A positive, reliable and professional attitude.

• Commitment to workplace health and safety.
