The Civil Works team is responsible for the construction, maintenance and care of Councils assets including roads, drainage, footpaths, traffic facilities and signs.

About the Role:
We have a vacancy for an energetic and experienced Plant Operator to undertake the following responsibilities in our Civil works team:
Driving, loading and unloading the plant and equipment on councils beaver tail float.
Operators rotate tasks, so experience on a range of plant including loader/backhoe/grader/excavator is highly regarded.
Prior experience in the Operation and familiarity of the day to day tasks associated with the use of construction plant and relevant attachments.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:
Current MR Driver’s licence
Construction Induction Certificate (White Card)
Authorised Certificate of Competency as Recognised by WorkCover for all relevant plant and equipment.
Trades Certificate and/or Completion of Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations (RII30815) or similar qualification in relevant area to operational activities highly regarded
Extensive experience operating relevant plant and equipment, in and around underground services on Roads and Footpaths and in demanding situations
Demonstrated experience using a wide range of attachments and the ability to recommend and use as required.
Ability to work alone and/or under limited supervision and to provide direction and guidance to other team members as required to complete a delegated task.
