We are seeking a technically strong and ambitious Senior Hydrogeologist to join our team. In this role, you will provide technical leadership while leveraging Pentium Water’s deep integration with other Vysarn subsidiaries — including Pentium Hydro, Pentium Test Pumping, Pro Eng, as well as the newly acquired acquisition Welltech, to expand and enhance our service lines in Managed Aquifer Recharge and the growing Renewables sector.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced technically focused Hydrogeologist with preferred relevant experience in such areas as mine water management and/or the renewables sector to join our growing Hydrogeology team. The role will require you to be a technically competent and proactive contributing member of our dynamic groundwater team. In addition, we are seeking someone who is eager to engage with the other Vysarn subsidiaries to maximise potential opportunities and realise synergies across our working groups to deliver bespoke end-to-end solutions for our client’s water challenges. You will have involvement in delivery of projects including, but not limited to:

• Mine dewatering and closure

• Water resource management

• Managed Aquifer Recharge

• Renewables (wind and solar farms) i.e. hydrogeological assessments, site selection suitability assessments etc.

• Water supply development

• Surplus water management

• Urban and civil construction water management

• Groundwater level rise assessments and modelling

• Managed aquifer recharge

• Large scale water balance assessment

• Water quality and groundwater contamination assessment

• Eco-hydrological assessments

• Regional hydrogeological investigations

• Overall groundwater management and licencing

This is a Perth based position that may require occasional travel to sites potentially both intra-state and inter-state.

About You 

To be successful in the application for the role, you will display:

• A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Hydrogeology / Water Resources);

• 6-10+ years’ experience in water resources work, with at least 5 years’ experience in project management.

• An interest in building business development skills as part of a broader growing business.

• Interest in (and capability to) mentor junior team members.

• The ability to work collaboratively and efficiently within a team across diverse projects and tasks.

• The ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy to prioritise and deliver tasks, including project team management and task delegation.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• Strong report writing skills.

• Competent in Microsoft Office packages.

Ideally, you will also have:

• Experience in managing and delivering projects on time, and to a high level of technical quality

• Experience in working with clients across all multiple sectors, commodities and government agencies

Pentium Water offers friendly and flexible working conditions within a well-appointed office located in West Perth. The position offers competitive remuneration which will be commensurate with skills and experience, as well as the opportunity to develop your career within a supportive team and growing company. The position is full time; however, part-time capacity will be considered for the right candidate.
