About the OpportunityCarey MC is seeking experienced and safety-focused Specialised Labourer to join our team on the Saltwater Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) Project on a FIFO 2/1 Roster.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a specialised infrastructure project supporting essential water infrastructure.
As a Specialised Labourer, you will work as part of a construction crew supporting civil and pipeline installation activities. You will assist with site preparation, pipeline works, materials handling, excavation support, housekeeping and general construction activities while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
About the RoleReporting to the Site Supervisor or Leading Hand, your responsibilities will include:
Assisting with PVC water pipeline installation, including handling, positioning, laying and supporting pipework.
Supporting trench preparation, bedding, backfilling, compaction and reinstatement activities.
Assisting excavation and construction crews with daily work activities.
Loading, unloading, stacking and safely distributing materials, tools and equipment.
Assisting plant operators, pipelayers and supervisors across active work fronts.
Operating vehicles and equipment where appropriately licensed and competent.
Using hand tools, power tools and light equipment safely.
Installing and maintaining temporary barricades, signage, exclusion zones and other site controls.
Undertaking general labouring duties including digging, lifting, carrying, cleaning and site maintenance.
Maintaining safe and tidy work areas.
Participating in pre-starts, toolbox meetings and other site safety activities.
Following all SWMS, JHAs, permits, procedures and supervisor instructions.
Working safely around mobile plant, excavations, services and active construction areas.
Undertaking other reasonable duties within your skills, training and competency.

To be successful, you will have:
Previous experience in civil construction, mining, infrastructure or similar site-based labouring environments.
Experience using hand and power tools.
The ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a construction crew.
A strong commitment to safety and fitness for work.
A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
The ability to work outdoors and undertake physically demanding manual labour.
The flexibility to adapt to changing work fronts and project requirements.
Construction Industry White Card.
Current HC Driver's License (Essential).
Current Forklift (LF) Licence (Essential).
High Risk Licence – DG (Desirable).
Telescopic Materials Handler competency or equivalent industry training (Desirable).
Ability to work a 2/1 FIFO Roster.
Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical.
Ability to successfully complete Drug & Alcohol screening and comply with ongoing testing requirements.
