About the role 

We are seeking an experienced Senior Scientific Affairs Associate to play a pivotal role in the development and launch of innovative health and wellness products across China and the Rest of Asia Pacific (ROAP).

Working at the intersection of science, innovation, product development and commercial strategy, you will partner closely with Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Product Safety and external stakeholders to transform ideas into successful products that deliver real value to consumers.

This role offers broad exposure across the entire product lifecycle, from identifying emerging trends and evaluating new concepts through to product launch, scientific education and ongoing portfolio support.

Reporting to a remote leader and collaborating with stakeholders across multiple countries, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys working autonomously, managing competing priorities and driving projects forward through influence and strong stakeholder engagement.

This is a full time in office role based in Warriewood on Sydney's Northern beaches.

Key Responsibilities

Innovation & New Product Development

• Identify emerging consumer, ingredient and category trends across Asia Pacific and China
• Develop innovative, evidence-based product concepts across multiple brands and categories
• Partner with marketing teams to evaluate opportunities and prioritise innovation pipelines
• Provide scientific and technical expertise to support product positioning and communication strategies

Product Development & Commercialisation

• Develop evidence-based formulations that meet both commercial and regulatory requirements
• Assess product feasibility, including ingredients, dosage forms, claims and cost considerations
• Support products through stage-gate development processes to ensure timely market launch
• Build and maintain relationships with ingredient suppliers, manufacturers and key external partners
• Prepare and maintain technical dossiers, substantiation files and scientific documentation

Scientific Affairs & Product Support

• Provide expert scientific advice to internal stakeholders across regional markets
• Support technical, scientific and product-related enquiries
• Prepare product safety assessments and compliance documentation
• Contribute to scientific issue management and product lifecycle support activities

Scientific Engagement & Education

• Develop compelling scientific resources, educational materials and training programs
• Engage with healthcare professionals (HCPs), key opinion leaders (KOLs) and industry stakeholders
• Support scientific exchange and represent PharmaCare at relevant conferences and industry events

Regulatory & Promotional Compliance

• Review and support promotional claims, packaging and marketing materials
• Ensure communications remain scientifically accurate and compliant across relevant markets
• Partner with marketing teams to navigate evolving regulatory requirements and advertising standards

About you 

You are naturally curious, commercially minded and passionate about translating science into products that make a difference.

You thrive in fast-paced environments where you can take ownership of projects, influence stakeholders and balance multiple priorities. You're comfortable working independently while maintaining strong collaboration with colleagues located across different markets and time zones.

You'll bring:

• Fluent Mandarin language skills (essential)
• 3-5+ years' experience in Scientific Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Product Development, Medical Affairs or a related healthcare environment
• Experience within complementary medicines, health supplements, functional foods, OTC medicines, medical devices, cosmetics or FMCG products
• Strong understanding of TGA, FSANZ, medical device, OTC and broader regulatory frameworks
• Outstanding ability to interpret scientific literature and translate evidence into commercially meaningful outcomes
• Excellent project management, organisational and stakeholder engagement skills
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capability and attention to detail
• Qualification in Nutrition, Naturopathy, Pharmacy, Health Sciences or a related scientific discipline
