Pipelayer Foreman & Pipelayers

RCC Civil is seeking experienced Pipelayers and Pipelayer Foremen to join our team, working across civil construction projects throughout Northern Rivers NSW and Southeast Queensland.

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will assist with or lead the installation of stormwater, sewer and water infrastructure, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Install pipes, pits, manholes and associated infrastructure.

• Read and interpret construction plans, levels and specifications.

• Prepare trenches, bedding materials and pipe foundations.

• Use lasers and levelling equipment to achieve the required line and grade.

• Coordinate excavation, installation, backfilling and compaction activities.

• Complete inspections, photos and project records in Procore.

• Identify and report hazards, incidents and non-conforming work.

• Maintain a safe, clean and organised work area.

• Assist with general civil construction duties when required.

Additional responsibilities for Foreman applicants

• Lead and coordinate pipelaying crews and daily work activities.

• Plan labour, plant, materials and equipment requirements.

• Allocate tasks and provide clear direction to team members.

• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, subcontractors and other site crews.

• Monitor productivity, quality and progress against the construction program.

• Ensure installations comply with approved drawings, specifications and ITPs.

• Conduct pre-starts, toolbox talks and site inspections.

• Mentor less experienced pipelayers and apprentices.

• Identify potential delays, variations and site issues and report them promptly.

• Ensure safety, environmental and quality requirements are followed.

About you

• Previous pipelaying experience in civil construction.

• Supervisory or crew leadership experience for Foreman applicants.

• Ability to read plans and work accurately to line and level.

• Knowledge of trench safety and pipe installation requirements.

• Certificate III in Civil Construction-Pipelaying or a related qualification is desirable.

• Current White Card and driver’s licence.

• Strong communication and organisational skills.

• Reliable, safety-focused and able to work effectively within a team.

• Full Australian working rights.
