We are looking for an organised, hands-on Project Coordinator and Production Planner to join our Harnessing business unit, coordinating customer projects and production jobs from order release through to completion and delivery.

This is a bran new role connecting engineering, purchasing, production, sales and management – and includes helping shape our in-house production planning software as it's developed and improved.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager – Harnessing, you will:

• Create and maintain the production schedule, balancing customer requirements, material availability, capacity and priorities

• Coordinate customer projects end-to-end, from order release through engineering, procurement, production, testing and dispatch

• Track milestones, follow up outstanding actions and keep departments aligned as projects progress

• Work with purchasing and stores to keep materials moving, and hold jobs back where critical information or materials are missing

• Spend regular time on the production floor, coordinating around real roadblocks rather than planning solely from a screen

• Act as a key user in developing, testing and improving our in-house production planning system

About you

• Experience in production planning, project coordination, manufacturing coordination or a similar operational role

• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills

• Ability to manage multiple jobs and priorities simultaneously

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Confidence communicating with production employees, engineers, purchasing and management

• Good computer literacy and the ability to learn new systems quickly

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to identify problems early and follow actions through to completion

• A practical approach to planning and problem-solving

You would ideally have experience in cable assembly, wire harnessing, electrical manufacturing or a related industrial environment;

• exposure to SAP, MES or similar production planning systems;

• understanding of BOMs, routings,

• work orders and production travellers;

• and a basic understanding of Lean manufacturing principles.
