Main Component Upgrade (MCU) Technician

GE Vernova is seeking skilled Main Component Upgrade (MCU) Technician to join our specialized team executing critical heavy-lift and repair work across Australia. This is a unique opportunity to apply your trade skills to advanced turbine technology while working on a 3:1 roster across our wind farm sites on the East Coast of Australia.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role for qualified electricians or mechanics who enjoy complex technical challenges and the opportunity to travel. As an MCU Technician, you will be instrumental in ensuring the longevity and performance of our wind turbine fleet through the execution of major component exchanges and uptower repairs.

What We’re Looking For?

• A recognised Electrical Licence (with mechanical aptitude) or a Mechanical trade qualification (with electrical aptitude).

• Proven experience in industrial maintenance, mining, utilities, or heavy industry. Previous wind farm experience, particularly with major component exchange (MCE) and heavy-lift operations, is highly desirable.

• Strong fault-finding skills across electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.

• Comfortable working at heights and performing physically demanding tasks in outdoor, remote environments.

• A proactive, safety-first attitude with a strong commitment to JSA, LOTO, and EHS policies.

• Current unrestricted driver’s license and the ability to work a 3-week on, 1-week off roster.

• Must hold valid eligibility to work in Australia (Citizen, Permanent Resident, or NZ Citizen).
