Retail Chef /Cook - Casual

The Casual Retail Chef/Cook are expected to uphold and enhance Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre's (PCEC) reputation based around the philosophy that 'food always comes first' and that we are innovators in food style and service.

Role Requirements

This is a hands-on role that requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, often under pressure. The Retail Chef/Cook will be responsible for:

• Assisting with food preparation and service to a high standard.
• Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
• Supporting the kitchen team to meet service and production requirements.
• Delivering quality food products within strict timeframes.

Performing a range of physical tasks associated with commercial kitchen operations

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.

Experience

• Previous experience in a retail food outlet, café, restaurant, or similar food service environment is advantageous but not essential.
• Experience supporting a Chef or Cook in a commercial kitchen is desirable.
• Understanding of legislative food safety requirements and best practice food handling procedures.
• Ability to maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and customer service while adhering to organisational policies and procedures.
