About the role
Company Description PBS Pathways is a specialist Positive Behaviour Support service supporting NDIS participants across South Australia. The team delivers respectful, trauma-informed, and evidence-based behaviour support tailored to each person’s unique needs. Services are designed to enhance quality of life, promote independence, and reduce behaviours of concern in a sustainable way. Practitioners work collaboratively with participants, families, and support networks to develop practical strategies that are person-centered and aligned with NDIS goals.Role Description This is a contract Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner role based in Adelaide, SA, with a hybrid work arrangement that combines community visits, office work, and some work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting functional behaviour assessments, developing and implementing person-centered behaviour support plans, and reviewing plans in line with client outcomes and NDIS requirements. The practitioner will provide coaching and training to support workers, families, and other stakeholders to ensure consistent application of strategies. The role also involves maintaining accurate documentation, writing professional reports, participating in multidisciplinary collaboration, and adhering to trauma-informed, rights-based practice. Regular travel to client locations within the region will be required, with flexibility to manage caseloads and schedules.Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Behavioural Science, or a related discipline, or working toward such qualification.Demonstrated experience in Positive Behaviour Support, including functional behaviour assessment and development of evidence-based behaviour support plans.Strong skills in person-centered and trauma-informed practice, with a commitment to human rights, dignity, and inclusion for people with disability.Ability to build effective relationships with participants, families, support coordinators, and service providers, and to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, documentation, and the capacity to explain behavioural strategies in accessible language.Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage a caseload, prioritize tasks, and work autonomously in a hybrid environment.Understanding of the NDIS framework, safeguarding principles, and relevant legislation or practice standards.Proficiency with basic digital tools (e.g., email, case management systems, word processing) to manage documentation and remote work.Current driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle for community visits, and appropriate clearances (e.g., NDIS Worker Screening or equivalent, Working With Children Check) as required.
