About the role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Associate or Senior Associate to join an established Commercial Litigation & Dispute Resolution team in Newcastle.
This role offers access to a strong pipeline of complex matters and the opportunity to take ownership of files while contributing to the continued growth of the practice.
The successful applicant will work on a broad mix of interesting, complex disputes, including multi-party litigation, across a diverse client base. He or she will primarily work on building & construction and property related disputes, but may also gain exposure to insolvency, restructuring and debt recovery matters, and to other contractual disputes and general commercial litigation.
The role offers genuine variety, with exposure to matters across multiple jurisdictions and courts, primarily in the Supreme Court and appellate level.
About you
Our ideal candidate would be a commercially minded disputes lawyer with at least 3 years’ PQE including experience in construction disputes, and in particular, familiarity with the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act.
We are looking for someone with strong drafting, advocacy and negotiation skills, combined with a pragmatic and client-focused approach to delivering outcomes.
