About the role
About the role
Step into the role of resident Speech Pathologist on our North Lakes team.
You’ve built your foundations, at least 3 years in paediatrics as a Speech Pathologist, and you’re ready for real clinical ownership. Not a heavily supervised graduate structure, but a role where you can lead from behind, do good work, and truly partner with families.
Our much-loved previous North Lakes speechie has relocated, leaving a defined caseload of children aged 2.5 to 12 years. This role is ready to walk into, with a warm team of 3 paediatric OTs waiting to welcome you as our resident Speechie.
Hi, I'm Bec, Co-founder and Managing Director of Progress Pathways. Over the past 4.5 years, our team of 13 therapists across Kedron, North Lakes, and Burleigh Heads has built a practice rooted in warmth, evidence-based care, and quiet excellence. We are lifelong learners who show up for our families every day, and we are looking for our next North Lakes resident speechie.
Key responsibilities
Provide clinical speech pathology services to an existing caseload of children aged 2.5 to 12 years
Deliver clear clinical ownership as the resident speechie at our North Lakes site
Build genuine, trusting relationships with children and their families
Collaborate daily with the local team of 3 paediatric OTs at North Lakes
Draw on and contribute to our broader speech pathology network across 3 clinic sites
Participate in weekly local team meetings, fortnightly 1:1 senior supervision, and monthly SP group supervision
Engage in advanced clinical practice as your caseload scales
About you
Our best team members are humble, client-focused, and quietly driven to help children thrive. You will fit right in if you have:
Current Speech Pathology Australia membership and eligibility to work in Queensland
Minimum 3 years of paediatric speech pathology experience
Strong relational skills with children, families, and colleagues
Established skills, or a genuine desire to grow, in feeding, AAC, literacy, early intervention (2–4 years), or video interaction
NDIS experience (including NDIS report writing) highly valued
Benefits
Salary: $100,000 to $120,000 pa inclusive of super, based on experience and caseload (the upper end reflects a full caseload and clinical leadership responsibilities)
Unlimited CPD (Time & Budget): Course fees, travel, accommodation, and paid time away from clinical duties are all covered (a standard 12-month cost recovery applies for the investment if you leave the team within this period)
Up to 5 Weeks Leave: Earn bonus leave from your first 6 months (100% of our North Lakes team achieved this last year)
Flexible Work Design: Choose a 4-day week, 9-day fortnight, or flexible hours
Practical Support: AI-assisted admin tools to cut paperwork, a well-stocked resource library, and a strict "no laptops on the lunch table" rule to ensure work stays within work hours
Structured Mentoring: Fortnightly 1:1 supervision with senior SP Anika (including face-to-face onboarding visits at Kedron), plus access to senior SP lead Jane
Clinic Space: Co-located with Delta Gymnastics in a spacious, unique environment for therapy
Relocation Support: Available for candidates considering a move
