About the Role

Reporting directly to the Dealer Principal, the Financial Controller will oversee all aspects of the dealership's financial operations. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to an experienced automotive finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing accurate and timely monthly financial statements and management reports

• Overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management

• Managing the day-to-day operations of the accounts and finance team

• Ensuring compliance with statutory, taxation, and manufacturer reporting requirements

• Monitoring departmental performance (new/used vehicle sales, service, parts) against KPIs

• Liaising with the Dealer Principal and department managers to drive profitability

• Managing floorplan financing, reconciliations, and stock control processes

• Overseeing payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger integrity

• Supporting audits and liaising with external accountants and auditors

• Identifying opportunities to improve financial systems, controls, and processes

About You

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller, ideally within the automotive dealership industry

• Sound knowledge of dealership management systems (e.g. Tune/Revolution, ERA-Power, or similar)

• CA/CPA qualification (or working towards) highly regarded

• Strong understanding of floorplan financing and dealership stock control

• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a small finance team

• High attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate financial data for non-finance stakeholders

• A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to work autonomously
