Senior Security Platform Engineer

Launch Recruitment is representing a leading enterprise organisation in the search for a Senior Security Platform Engineer to support and optimise Cyber Defence and Threat Detection operations.

The role applies Reliability Engineering principles across SIEM, EDR, Vulnerability Management, and Exposure Management platforms, driving reliability through observability, automation, incident management and

suits a highly technical engineer with a passion for security, automation and Everything as Code.

Responsibilities Include -

Driving platform reliability and performance by defining and monitoring SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, and platform health across core security platformsLeading reliability improvements through proactive risk identification, observability, reliability reviews, and engineering enhancementsBuild and manage observability solutions across security platformsDevelop monitoring and alerting automation using observability-as-code principlesLead security platform incident response and recovery, coordinating major incidents, stakeholder communications, and post-incident reviewsDrive operational excellence through runbooks, incident trend analysis, on-call maturity, alert optimisation, and planned change managementDrive platform performance optimisation

Requirements include -

5+ years in SRE, DevOps, or Platform Engineering within large enterprise environmentsProven expertise in SRE practices, including SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, observability, incident management, and reliability engineering for complex platformsHands-on experience with automation and platform engineering, including Python scripting, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and everything-as-code methodologiesStrong knowledge of cloud and observability technologiesExperience supporting enterprise security platforms and operations, such as SIEM, EDR, Vulnerability Management, or SOC environmentsExcellent collaboration and communication skills
