Business Development Manager - Technology Services

About the role

The Business Development Manager – Technology Services is responsible for identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities across iDetect Group's technology and security solutions. The role combines strategic business development, consultative selling, customer relationship management and commercial negotiation, with a strong focus on technology-led solutions that help customers secure, monitor and protect their people, assets and sites.

The BDM will build long-term relationships with existing customers, partners and new prospects, understand their operational and security requirements, and work with internal technical and operational teams to develop appropriate solutions, proposals and commercial outcomes. The role is expected to contribute directly to revenue growth, market share, customer retention and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a high-quality technology services sales pipeline across QLD
• Prospect for new customers through targeted market research, referrals, networking, existing relationships and structured outbound activity
• Conduct customer meetings, site visits and discovery sessions to identify business, operational and security requirements
• Present technology solutions and commercial proposals in a clear, professional and outcome-focused manner
• Prepare and manage quotations, proposals, tenders and commercial submissions within required timeframes
• Work closely with technical and operational teams to validate solution scope, pricing, implementation requirements and delivery capability
• Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities within existing accounts
• Maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Monitor competitor activity, market trends and emerging technology opportunities relevant to the business
• Maintain complete and accurate CRM records, including leads, opportunities, meeting notes, next actions, quotes and customer requirements

About you

• Demonstrated ability to understand technology and security solutions and translate technical requirements into customer-focused outcomes
• Build trusted relationships, conduct discovery meetings, present solutions and communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders
• Identify opportunities, develop compelling proposals, manage objections, negotiate commercial outcomes and close business
• Understand market dynamics, customer economics, pipeline performance and financial and commercial information
• Manage multiple opportunities and initiatives while coordinating effectively with technical and operational teams
• Identify customer and delivery challenges, evaluate options and make commercially sound decisions
• Proficient use of CRM systems to manage leads, opportunities, customer activity, pipeline and job information
• Relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated industry experience in business development, technology, security, sales or a related field
• Previous experience in technology services, electronic security, monitoring, integrated security solutions, telecommunications, ICT or a comparable B2B environment will be highly regarded
