Dealership Accountant

About the role:

This is a hands-on accounting role where your work directly supports sound financial decision-making across the dealership and contributes to the broader performance of Frizelle Sunshine Automotive.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports, giving you visibility across the full dealership operation
• Reconciling balance sheet accounts and ensuring the integrity of the general ledger
• Managing accounts payable and receivable functions, keeping the business running smoothly
• Assisting with statutory reporting, BAS preparation, and compliance obligations
• Working closely with department managers to provide financial insight that helps them make informed decisions
• Contributing to the annual budgeting and forecasting process alongside the wider finance team

About you:

You bring solid accounting foundations and the confidence to manage competing priorities without losing attention to detail.

More about you:

• A relevant accounting qualification such as a degree in Accounting or Finance is essential
• Experience in a dealership or automotive environment will be highly regarded and help you settle in quickly
• Strong working knowledge of accounting software and advanced Excel skills
• Familiarity with DMS platforms, ideally Pentana or similar, is a genuine advantage
• Clear communication skills that allow you to translate financial data into plain language for non-finance colleagues
• A methodical, accurate approach to your work, with the discipline to meet reporting deadlines consistently
