Landscaping Laborer

About the role

Terra Mater Group is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Landscaping Laborer to join our team on a full-time basis. Based in Fyshwick, ACT, this role is fundamental to delivering high-quality landscaping projects for our clients across the region. As a Landscaping Laborer, you will be at the heart of our operations, supporting the execution of landscaping jobs and ensuring that every project is completed to the highest standards. This is a hands-on role that offers excellent opportunities to develop your skills in a dynamic, growing business within the gardening and landscaping industry.

What you'll be doing

• Assist with site preparation, excavation, demolition, clearing and levelling

• Assist with paving, concreting, decking, retaining walls, brickwork and edging

• Assist with garden bed preparation, planting, turfing and softscape construction

• Operate hand tools, power tools and landscaping/construction equipment safely

• Load, unload and move materials, plants and equipment around job sites

• Maintain clean, safe and organised work areas

• Follow all site safety requirements and report hazards or incidents

• Work as part of a team and follow directions from supervisors, foremen and project managers

• Assist with problem-solving and completing works efficiently and to a high standard

• Work across different commercial construction sites and project environments

What we're looking for

• Strong work ethic and positive attitude

• Reliable, punctual and committed to full-time work

• Physically fit and comfortable with manual labour and lifting

• Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions

• Experience using hand and power tools

• Good communication and teamwork skills

• Commitment to workplace health and safety

• Current driver's licence and reliable transport

• Previous landscape construction, civil construction or building experience is advantageous

• White Card, Silica & Asbestos Card Holders

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

The following are highly desirable but not essential:

• HR driver's licence

• Experience operating trucks and commercial vehicles

• Plant and machinery tickets, including excavator, skid steer, front-end loader, roller or similar

• Experience operating construction and civil machinery

• Previous commercial landscape construction or civil construction experience
