Harley Milling is one of the largest and most modern durum mills in the southern hemisphere. Operating highly automated modern milling equipment, Harley Milling supplies the daily semolina requirements for San Remo Macaroni Company and is an integral part of the success of the business.

About the Role:

Due to ongoing demand an opportunity has arisen to join our Milling facility based at Windsor Gardens.

This hands-on role is responsible for the safe operation of the mill for the milling process end to end. This role will require the successful candidate to be able to lead a small team, while also being able to maintain optimum-milling and maintain maximum production.

Provided with coaching and on-the-job training this is a development role the successful applicant will be trained in the daily operation of a semolina mill and undertake an accredited flour milling course. 

Training will include all aspects of:

• Wheat storage/segregation.

• Semolina milling.

• High standards of plant and food hygiene.

• Optimising production through output of yield.

About You:

Intelligent, enquiring, capable.  Eager to learn and genuinely interested in food quality processes and agriculture, you will have the opportunity to receive both on the job training and mentoring, as well as gaining a formal qualification in milling.

The following qualities would be an advantage:

• A ‘can do’ attitude

• Mechanical aptitude and preparedness to get you hand dirty

• Grain industry background.

• Food processing hygiene principles, such as GMP, ISO or HACCP.

• Mill experience.

After the completion of their training, successful candidates will be required to perform rotational shift work (day/afternoon/night) and operate within small teams. This is an opportunity to join a progressive and innovative South Australian company.
