Join the Team at Bird in Hand — Royal Tasmanian Botanic Gardens
We're looking for exceptional Chefs to join our growing restaurant in Hobart.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a venue unlike any other in the city, a winery-owned restaurant where every guest’s experience is centered around exceptional food, wine and uncompromising hospitality.
Inside the iconic Royal Tasmanian Botanic Gardens, Bird in Hand offers fine dining, casual dining, a tasting bar, kiosk service, and premium catering.

COMMIS CHEF and CHEF DE PARTIE
Responsibilities Include:
Preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes to brand standards
Managing a specific kitchen section efficiently
Supporting menu execution and high-quality service
Maintaining hygiene, safety, and stock control
What We’re Looking
Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar kitchen environment
Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery or above
Excellent Knowledge of food preparation techniques, flavour profiles and food presentation
Strong time management and organisational skills to work in efficiently in a fast paced kitchen
Ability to thrive in a team environment
Passion for using high-quality, locally sourced ingredients
