Join NT PHN in an Education Team Lead role, responsible for the delivery of programs enabling access to continuous professional development (CPD) and education to the Northern Territory’s (NT) multidisciplinary primary health workforce. This includes but is not limited to NT PHN’s CPD calendar, CPD grants, Health Workforce Scholarship Program and the bi-annual Compass Conference.
The role leads the implementation of a relevant education strategy, identifying priority contents in consultation with stakeholders and consideration of NT population health trends and NT PHN’s priority workforce needs for such as GPs, nurses, allied health professionals, Aboriginal health workers.
The team lead will also work collaboratively within NT PHN and across the primary health care sector to identify opportunities to collaborate, integrate and optimise cost effective learning opportunities.
About You
You have:
Tertiary education relevant to clinical education and/or extensive experience in education for health professionals and project management. Exceptional interpersonal and engagement skills, with a proven ability to build collaborative relationships with a wide range of internal and external clients, partners and stakeholders in an environment requiring cultural sensitivity.
Demonstrated leadership qualities with exceptional management skills and a track record of leading successful teams.
Ability to lead the development, implementation and review of policies, procedures and processes to drive the efficient and effective operation of the Workforce Branch and their deliverables.
Demonstrated high level skills in program management including oversight and management of budgets and ensuring quality and timeliness of all program delivery and reporting to meet Key Performance Indicators.
Highly developed problem-solving, conceptual, and analytical skills, and proven ability to contribute to evaluation and continuous improvement.
Proven skills and experience in service development and implementation to meet funding requirements and contractual obligations.
An understanding of the issues relating to remote health workforce development and primary health care professionals working in an Aboriginal health and cross-cultural context.
Demonstrated expertise in written and verbal communication skills, including high-level report writing.
About the Role
Key priorities include:
Leading the design and delivery of professional development and education events for primary health care professionals across the NT.
Oversight of the CPD Grants and Health Workforce Scholarship program.
Leadership of a high performing team with a focus on the delivery of exceptional, client-focused service provision and building of collaborative partnerships with stakeholders.
Financial management and program key performance indicators tracking and reporting to NT PHN governance structures and relevant funding bodies.
Engaging in workforce planning to support the primary health care sector and ensure continued access to a quality workforce during periods of need, including during emergency response.
Developing and implementing innovative workforce solutions that advance the effective, culturally safe, and sustainable delivery of quality primary health care services.
Leading by example in achieving results and driving continuous quality improvement for all programs and initiatives.
Working with key internal and external stakeholders to lead the development of collaborative, flexible, workforce partnerships and activities, to address workforce challenges and opportunities, whilst maximizing business potential.
