Service Delivery Manager (Psychologist, Social Worker, Mental Health Nurse)

Service Delivery Manager - Manly & St Leonards - Full-time

Sydney Drug Education and Counselling Centre (SDECC) is looking for a Service Delivery Manager to bring strong coordination to our counselling services, supporting the team and keeping the day-to-day priorities and practicalities of service delivery on track.

This is a hands-on management role in a small but impactful service supporting young people and families navigating alcohol and other drug use alongside mental health and other co-occurring challenges.

We are looking for a clinician who understands the AOD and youth mental health sector, enjoys working with people, and has experience overseeing the delivery of evidence-informed psychological services. You have strong skills in setting priorities, building capacity, managing client flow and appropriate follow-up care. You understand and work within trauma and culturally-informed best practice protocols and frameworks., If you are currently a Clinical Manager, Team Leader, Senior Clinician, Clinical Coordinator, Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, we would love to speak with you about this exciting opportunity.

The role

You will be part of the management team working closely with and reporting directly to the CEO. You will manage the day-to-day delivery of SDECC's youth counselling services and support our dedicated team of AOD Counsellors across our Manly and St Leonards clinics.

You'll have a varied remit, including:

• coordinating referrals, waitlists, allocations, caseloads and clinician capacity

• overseeing service delivery activities, ensuring safety and quality principles are prioritised

• providing clear day-to-day direction and support to the counselling team supporting staff development, wellbeing and performance

• helping clinicians work consistently within SDECC's model of care

• identifying and escalating clinical, operational and workforce risks

• tracking KPIs across both sites

• supporting quality improvement, compliance and good clinical systems

• working closely with our CEO, People & Culture, administration and broader team.

About you

You'll bring a relevant background in AOD and/or youth mental health, together with experience coordinating, supervising or managing others.

We're particularly interested in someone who:

• is organised with strong time-management, communicates clearly and is comfortable setting expectations

• can be supportive while still holding appropriate boundaries

• is confident addressing issues respectfully when they arise

• has sound clinical judgement and knows when to seek guidance

• works well within a team and doesn't need to have all the answers

• is interested in continuing to develop their management experience.

A relevant qualification in psychology, social work, counselling, mental health nursing or another health/allied health discipline is required, with professional registration and membership where applicable.

Experience across both AOD and youth mental health would be ideal, however we are open to someone who is particularly strong in one and understands the intersection between the two. Mental health nurses with relevant team leadership or management experience are very welcome to apply.

SDECC is a not-for-profit, community-based AOD organisation supporting young people aged 12–25 and their families across the Northern Beaches, North Shore and wider Northern Sydney.

We provide free, confidential and evidence-informed counselling and support for young people navigating alcohol and other drug use alongside mental health and other co-occurring challenges. Our experienced counsellors understand the complexities of AOD use and mental health for both young people and their families.
