About the role
We’re looking for an early-career Content Producer who’s exceedingly curious, enthusiastic and ready to work hard while learning fast. This role is an opportunity to expand your skillset, explore complex ideas, and hone your craft across digital and print. Supported by some of Australia’s most experienced creatives and editors, you’ll be part of a tight-knit team solving real-world publishing challenges from day one.
About the roleThe Content Producer supports the delivery of high-quality editorial and digital content across Mahlab’s publishing clients. This junior role will have a specific focus on the business and HR sector, but will also work across digital and print publications in other professional domains when required.
The role is primarily a producer role but also includes program production tasks such as regular EDM builds, platform uploads and social media uploads to ensure all deliverables are published accurately and on time, with regularly producing written and multimedia content for digital and/or print titles.
A day in the life could look like this:Produce a steady number of digital content pieces per week, as well as print articles for a quarterly print title as required.Contribute to weekly content planning, pitching ideas and developing briefs.Assist with sub-editing and proofreading content to maintain editorial standards and accuracy.Craft and schedule engaging social media posts.Build and schedule dailyeDMs in Microsoft DynamicsUpload digital content to clients' nominated Content Management System (CMS) and social channels.Track and report on content and EDM performance monthly.Provide ongoing administrative support to the editor, including client reporting and ad hoc production tasks.Over time, build industry and subject matter knowledge and relationships with key stakeholdersOccasionally support teams in the development and management of communication and content strategies.
The ideal person for this role will possess:Curious, creative and a desire to learnIdeally with 1-2 years as a journalist or content producerTertiary-qualified in Journalism, Communications, Public RelationsStrong writing abilities and English language skillsAn interest in complex subject matters (such as health, business, etc.)Ability to contribute to high-quality content in a variety of formats that aligns with client objectives, brand voice and the audience.Some experience with interviewing subject matter experts and developing questions.Ability to juggle multiple tasks at once with conflicting deadlinesHigh attention to detail, including consistency, accuracy and adherence to editorial standards.Intermediate tech skills, with experience using CMS platforms, including content uploads, metadata management and basic formatting and building and scheduling EDMs.
