Canteen Assistant

Permanent Part time CANTEEN ASSISTANT

The canteen assistant role is a Permanent Part-time Position.

The canteen operates Monday to Friday and requires availability between 7am and 2.30pm.  It is a term-based position and hours may vary depending on the needs of the canteen.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and use initiative and have excellent communication and organisational skills as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain a high level of personal and professional presentation.

Key responsibilities:

• Food preparation and general kitchen duties

• Barista skills desirable

• Customer service (including cash handling and use of our POS system)

• Restocking fridges and food displays

• Stock rotation

• Assist with internal school catering

• General cleaning and hygiene duties throughout the canteen

• Other duties as directed by the Canteen Convenor

• Comply with health and safety food handling regulations

Experience in food preparation is desirable.

Applicants must hold a current Qld Working with Children (Paid Employee) Blue Card
