Contech provides a complete “one stop shop” service, including in-house mechanical design, electrical controls and programming, factory acceptance testing, installation, and ongoing support.Role Description The WHS Coordinator is a casual role based in Campbellfield Melbourne. The work time requirement is estimated at 8 hours per week and could be over more than 1 day. This role is responsible for coordinating workplace health and safety programs, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and internal policies. Day-to-day tasks include conducting risk assessments, inspections, and audits, maintaining safety documentation and incident records, and supporting the development and implementation of safety procedures. The WHS Coordinator will deliver safety training and toolbox talks, collaborate with managers and employees to promote a strong safety culture, and assist with incident investigations and corrective actions. The role also involves working closely with operations and engineering teams to identify hazards associated with manufacturing and installation activities and recommending practical control measures.QualificationsDemonstrated experience in workplace health and safety coordination, including risk assessments, inspections, and incident management.Knowledge of relevant WHS legislation, standards, and regulations, preferably within manufacturing, industrial engineering, or similar environments.Strong skills in documentation, reporting, and record-keeping, with attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate compliance records.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver training, engage stakeholders, and encourage a proactive safety culture.Ability to analyze safety data, identify trends, and propose practical, risk-based improvements to processes and equipment.Proficiency with common office software and WHS systems or incident management tools.Relevant qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field; professional certifications in WHS are an advantage.Experience working in manufacturing, food processing, automation, or industrial environments is highly beneficial.Ability to manage priorities independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
